Faculty in the School of Social Work, Department of Child and Family Studies, and Department of Marriage and Family Therapy in SU’s College of Human Ecology received a five-year training grant in support of promoting healthy marriages, relationships and families.

Exploring the Roots of American Social Work
Social work students are invited to participate in an annual trip to learn about the history of social work in the U.S.
Students in the School of Social Work participate annually in the “Roots of American Social Work” program in New York City. Students, faculty and staff have a unique and innovative educational opportunity bringing them face-to-face with sites of significance to the history of social work, along with a close-up view of contemporary practice. The trip is sponsored by the Alan B. and Barbara Mirken Foundation.
Working for Social Justice
The Syracuse University School of Social Work offers insights on social work as a unique profession that involves a variety of practice methods, including working with communities and community organizations in a DVD that was produced as part of its 50th anniversary celebration in 2007.
