Students Educate Community, Government Leaders on Lead Poisoning
Public health education = Scholarship in Action®
In the Department of Health and Wellness, students pursue research with faculty members, and immerse themselves in engaged learning experiences. Here, a student reviews data with an elected official during a community forum on protecting children from lead poisoning. In addition to presenting at the forum, students from Syracuse University, along with Hamilton College and Upstate Medical University, took part in research activities and community education on lead poisoning under the direction of Professor Sandy Lane.
